RTV CLOGGING OIL PICKUP

Hey everyone, first time in this forum. Quick question. We purchased the 2023 Subaru Ascent Touring in November and I love the car. Love it so much, I was thinking of getting a Base WRX 2022, but, after a little research it appears there is a problem with Subaru adding to much silicon sealant to the engine (same engine as Ascent) and potentially causing the oil pickup to be clogged, which can choke the amount of oil distributed in the engine and ruining the engine. It's making me rehtink getting a WRX and now i'm worried about my Ascent. Anyone having issues with the 2023 ascent and this RTV thing??

I don't think I can recall any RTV issues on any Ascents, 2019-2023, being reported in the group, and search isn't showing anything.

Also, the Legacy XT ,Outback Wilderness and Outback XT share the Ascent engine. The WRX technically does not, and uses a slightly different version of the Ascent engine.

I've seen a few people with this issue. They were denied warranty coverage due to the engine being oil starved. I think they both got it worked out and covered. The only reason I know is because I have a 2019 ascent, just went to do the oil and noticed metal dust/flake in the oil drain pan. I'm hoping they were already in the pan some how, but im pretty sure thats not the case. That sent me down a rabbit hole, and now I'm terrified of what may be coming. Especially being 4k out of warranty. I'll cut the old filter tonight and know for sure. We loved this ascent for the 5 months we've had it, and had already made plans to trade our terrible kia sorento for a cross trek, so im going to be devastated if this goes south.
