Is this confirmed from Method? Is this within the range of the OEM 18" rims?
Yes, this is the information supplied by Method Wheels. I apologize, we don't have the factory wheel weight rating but this is sufficient for your car.

...just curious, are you guys able to get the TSW Chrono (in 20x8.5 +40)? I was checking the Discount Tire website, but didn't see it listed. Thanks
Thank you so much for checking in with us, Syndicate!

As you've found, we do not inventory the Chrono just yet but we can most definitely order a set in for you

Shoot us a PM with the finish you're after along with your zip code and we'll gladly check price and availability for you! Thank you for the opportunity!

how is the clearance on brake calipers?
They clear, just sufficiently, and they're sufficiently load rated as well.

Shop needs to balance behind the rim well, and care not to scratch them on the rotors should be taken when rotating.

Do you know if i have any issue with this setup:
Method Race Wheels 501 Rally, 5x114.3 with Maxxis 771 Bravo A/T 235/65R17 Tires

Also, its first for me to buy all terrain. Do you know if the tires will have a big impact on my gas mileage?

Thanks

Yes, the MR501 will not clear the front calipers. The MR502 will.

Looking at possibly going with the Matte Black 18” method 503 rims or Rotiform SPF with Ko2s, terra Grappler or ridge grappler. What size tire would you go with? 255/55/18? Or something else. Don’t want it to rub and what tire do you guys like or recommend? Thanks

Personally, I'd use OEM size to avoid having to change out the spare...the spare must match the diameter of the tires on the four corners with AWD/4WD vehicles.

Also double check the load rating on the MR503, as those are more of a lightweight street oriented wheel with a lower load rating than the MR501 or MR502.

Does anybody know how much gas mileage will be affected by this tire Yokohama Geolander A/T-S
245 /60 R18 105H SL BSW
Over inflate a tiny bit to 36 psi, maybe 37 psi. You will notice 1 mpg drop under normal driving. More if you beat on your car a lot.

I am very fond of the Geolander A/T-S series - and supposedly their other AT is great as well.

Most of this was filmed on the Geolander A/T-S series.

Thank you Robert. I was debating between yokohama and continental terrain contact.
There is a $60 dollar difference per tire.

I like the Contis too. I've run both. The REST of that video is on the Terrain Contacts. ;)

The Geolanders are a little more aggressive, and slightly noisier, but the Terrain Contacts are great for most people.

  • So, for some slightly more serious stuff, and better snow handling, get the Geolanders.
  • For quieter ride, a tiny bit better gas mileage, get the Terrain Contacts.

Neither is likely to get you stuck anywhere the Ascent can handle, they're just slightly different. It's really a tough choice, if I had to choose again. Both can easily meet tire wear ratings, btw, if you rotate regularly.

I wanted to mount A/T 3PMSF tires on my Ascent Limited, so worked out a trade of my 20" wheels for the OEM Premium 18" wheels and mounted Geolander A/T G015's in 255/55R18. I'm very satisfied with both performance and looks. I've run Geolander A/T -S and G015 on 2 Outback 3.6R's, and they are very good in snow, with a very quiet and smooth ride in all conditions. We have lots of gravel and dirt roads, and they are XL load rated and wear very well in these tough conditions.... So I'm a fan.

Need assistance please.

I have a set of AG wheels laying around that are 20x10 +35. They seem to fit with a little poke about 2" and no inside rub but my issue is I haven't gotten tires yet. I'd like to go with 275/45/20 general grabber atx 3's. Anyone have any suggestions to see if I should go for it? Thank you.

Hey Guys - New Ascent owner here and new to this forum. Is it just me or am I not able to see photos in this thread? View attachment 908
Welcome and congratulations! Recently the forum moved to this new platform and/or interface. I think some of the photos, like the ones that were on this thread originally, did not move over or make it over with the change. The moderator, Robert Mauro, will know if they may be archived elsewhere. Safe travels!
