Hi, this is probably a weird question, but what color are the side pillars and the headliner in the 2022 limited? Some pictures look like they are the ivory color and some look like they are gray.

Unless something has changed suddenly, there is no grey used in any Ascent. It should be ivory unless it's an Onyx and even then, I'm not sure they changed the headliner, but I could be wrong about that.

How 'bout gray-ish ivory?

Actually, for me, it would depend upon which eye I'm using...the old lens on the left or the new one on the right. The latter has brighter, more rich color. LOL

Personally I wished the pillar trim and headliner were black. I really dislike lighter colored headliners since. Easy to stain and I think a dark headliner makes it feel more relaxing inside.

I'm torn. I think that would look really great at night with the moonroof cover open, and look really good asthetically, but I think it makes things kinda dark and dingy feeling.

I didn't buy the CX-9 because the sand leather interior had a black headliner and pillar trim. My Mazda 6 has the sand leather interior and the headliner and trim matches the leather. I called half a dozen dealers and asked them to check their CX-9's sand leather interiors and let me know the color of the headliner and trim. Only 1 had the sand but it wasn't the model I wanted.

The Ascent interior is a weird colorist's vision but at least it isn't a black dungeon.

I don't know why Subaru decided Ivory was the right color choice for the interior trim accent pieces either? Besides matching the headliner, I think it looks completely mismatched no matter what color seats are in the car. They could have done a charcoal, match the seat color, or something else and it would have looked much better. Just looks out of place and like it was an after thought to me. If the Onyx pieces didn't cost so much to do all at once, I'd probably do it. Like @CosmoK said, why the Onyx doesn't have a darker headliner/pillar panels to go along with the theme boggles my mind!!!

I have to agree with @Titanrx8 & @Jim_in_PA, there is a point when too much color makes it look very boring. But there are many cars that do dark headliners with grace and style. Light color interiors don't bother me too much as long as the commonly touched surfaces are not lightly colored since it can be hard to keep clean. Especially if there are kids involved...ever seen the light tan interiors of a Suburban or Tahoe after a couple years of kids??? ooof!
