So, it is not safe to driven your ascent if you got the recall msg?

Care to give some info about year/trim of your Ascent and perhaps some more info about what the recall said? That will likely tell you if its safe or not to continue driving.
How did you get the recall message?
I just checked the mysubaru app for mine - i dont see anything yet.

Do not rely on the dealer to call you.
I just looked up what i think is the recall, its NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V954000 at the NHTSA.gov site:
2020 SUBARU ASCENT SUV AWD | NHTSA
Subaru has it listed as WRL-21
Looks like their letters to dealers says the kit should be ordered once the dealer confirms the VIN#.
The letter to the vehicle owner appears to be quite clear to me as it is uses red bold lettering - it says "immediately contact dealer". I dont remember if other recalls we have received from Honda or Subaru in the past ever said do this immediately... so i would take this letter seriously and call your dealer and arrange for it to be taken care of.

I believe the parts became available February 7th - the day they mailed the notices.

finally one that I don't get to partake in!

I think its awesome that Subaru identifies these issues and fixes them. Reading that recall shows they have a good QA program to identify the issue. Now a great QA program may have caught it before it reached the consumer, but I'm still impressed.

It's actually interesting. The QA team discovered it during manufacturing, but due to the unknown impact to the vehicle it needed more research.....and time. Halting manufacturing was pretty much out of the question, and it appears they wanted to understand high mileage impact.

Either way, it is a good read. It also shows how crazy manufacturing is today with tracking suppliers, QA, etc.

I agree with mtmra70...if it doesn't show up in MySubaru or on the Subaru site for your VIN, your vehicle isn't part of the recall.
