Interesting thread. Are all of these "disabling" where Eyesight stops working at all?

We don't drive much, split time between NC (summer) and FL (winter). On the interstate going north, Eyesight worked really well. 3 months later returning to FL, it seemed to wander inside the lane, and not do nearly as well on curves.

Could be me, but something seems different?
Sure your had centering turned on? Might have just had lane keeping on. My 2023 is very centered in the lane on the interstate. Too centered for my taste when I want to give a semi more clearance.

Our eyesight quit on our 2019 completely, It was off warranty and cost $5200.00 to replace, then told by dealership that this is a common occurrence when it gets below -35 degrees C below zero. I have tried to have Subaru canada at the very least acknowledge the problem, but to no avail. As long as you don't turn the windshield heater on in -35 you might be OK. Really not impressed with the non response from subaru Canada critical safety item. Goodluck
When you had EyeSight replaced has it worked efficiently ever since then?

makes no difference as 2019 are very different from 2023+

also 23 cameras sold as set and cost 1/2 of 2019 -2022

87501XC10B - stereo Camera $1027
87542XC00A 3d Mono Camera $611

23+outback is 87501AN11B and 87542AN00A same price ..

Forester 22+ 87501SJ410 $2332 and they dont have same problem ... Hm...

On a positive note, Subaru replaced our EyeSight cameras with what they tell me is an upgraded camera set, which is kinda weird being as my Ascent is only 2 months old. You’d think a new car would have the latest cameras…..right? Anyway, let’s see how long they last. Fingers crossed. 🤞

what part # is on paperwork ?

We’ve had our 2023 ASCENT for only 2 months and EYESIGHT has failed us. We took it back to the dealership and they supposedly recalibrated everything and updated the software and possibly the firmware. It failed again while driving it home from the dealership, and after 10 days we took it back. It’s now been determined the cameras need to be replaced. Sadly they have no idea how long it will be before new parts will arrive so we are stuck driving with no cruise control, auto high beams, emergency breaking, parking hazard warning, and anything else that relies on the eyesight cameras.

Has anyone else experienced this issue, or are we just the unlucky ones?
Maybe your upper windshield is dirty!! Mine sometimes disable itself if there’s too much moisture settling on the windshield. It normal corrects itself the longer you drive and when the windshield is clean or clear.

I know that it in my case it is a different set of warnings and lights associated with this problem, vs when the system disables for sun glare, heavy rain, or a dirty windshield. That normally just gives a line struck through, saying Eyesight Disabled. This is yellow lights on the dash and info screen, and chimes every time you start the car.

Taking mine in this morning. Hoping a recalibration does it, but we'll see.

The part number that was installed is 87501XC10B Camera Assembly. It’s a noticeably smaller camera assembly than the one they removed.

@GreenOnyx2222 This has been an ongoing problem since my purchase of the new vehicle in July. There was no dirty windshield. Subaru tried to resolved the issue but eventually decided we needed a new camera set.

So, it appears that I am going to need a new camera assembly as well. The dealer tried a recalibration, but the camera would not recognize anything. They had originally said the assembly was backordered, but in a stroke of good luck, another customer that they ordered an assembly for no longer needed it, so I should get it installed next week. I'll keep everyone posted on if that helps. Fingers crossed.

I’m very interested to see if the part number for the Camera Set they are getting you is the same as mine, as listed above. Please keep in touch Here.

If that's the part number, it's the same camera as originally installed.

I just got back from picking up my Ascent from having the camera assembly replaced. The part number for mine was 87501XC10B as well.

Everything works as it should for now, hopefully that continues to be the case.
Having had my replacement camera kit installed everything is now working as it should. Fingers crossed. 🤞

Update
The PRIMARY EYESIGHT SAFETY SYSTEM has failed yet again. And my dealership has been notified of the latest COMPLETE FAILURE of the safety system. Well it didn't even last to 15 below C this time seems to be a deeper problem. OH JOY

And here is a question. If an accident were to occur while driving with the eyesight being out of commision would there be any consequences for knowingly driving a vehicle with the major safety device not working ?

Why would there be? You're always responsible for always being the driver in a Subie. None are self driving.

My situation is exactly the same as yours. This is also a 2023 model and I'm currently waiting for a replacement camera equipment.
