CA Serramonte Subaru Yes--Confirmed order

CA Putnam Subaru Big NO....pissed me off, they still say no with my black n white print out.
Is Serramonte Subaru in Colma accepting VIP pricing? When I checked a couple of months back, it was a firm (and rude) NO!

And in fact, he didn't even require that I have a copy when I went in for a test drive today, so I've put down my deposit on a Limited white/ivory, approach lights, Rockford Fosgate, splash guards, trailer hitch, 3rd row sunshade, cargo cover, door edge guards, and LED interior lights for $38,050, plus TTL, no dealer fees. He projected that it will arrive second half of November, which is perfect timing for me.

Super happy, a bit dazed to finally get it going after spending most of the summer looking at Outbacks!
Hi Glenda,

Please can you share the email address & direct phone# for John Martinez at Subaru of Austin (Texas) ?

So if they did not require your VIP certificate, then at what point will they need it to verify and honor the VIP pricing? Is the VIP pricing "At Invoice price" or "Invoice-2%"?

Sorry too many questions, but I'm going in circles with dealers here in the Houston area. Willing to drive to Austin, TX.

Any help/info is appreciated.
Oh no bummer to know Houston dealers may not accept VIP pricing. Let me know if that changes or where you get your Ascent.

Avoid McKenna Subaru / better dealers available in OC

I currently have a new one that is suppose to arrive in mid september. Did you not order one new and purchase directly off the lot using the VIP pricing?

I'm worried because the GM who placed the order and signed off on everything (which i have copies of) is no longer there anymore.

Hopefully they don't give me any hassle on my said pricing!!
Well, I ordered from McKenna Subaru in Huntington Beach, Ca. On Feb.25th...There were a lot of unknowns at that time but my salesperson said they would honor VIP pricing(or Costco,TrueCar, etc) if the Ascent became eligible...
It did....
Anyway,to make a long story short, the salesperson & sales manager were let go shortly before my car arrived....I found out the day before my car arrived that The new GM, Peter Lu, would not honor my agreement as I did not have it in “writing”......and they could sell all Ascents at MSRP because “no one” was selling below MSRP.....
Which is/was not true....
I complained to Subaru, etc., but ultimately nothing changed...So a few days later I ordered a new Ascent from another local dealer that really did honor VIP pricing(due in September)....
So much for the McKenna BS they were telling their customers ,about no dealer selling for under MSRP !!
If you have signed copies( unlike me with only texts & circumstantial emails & no updated deal) you should probably be ok if they are a honest, ethical dealer.
Like most Subaru dealers are....

Seattle-area Dealers

Just received verbal confirmation from both Eastside Subaru (in Kirkland) and Michael's Subaru (in Bellevue). However, Eastside said they will only accept VIP on Touring models if its a factory order. Willing to sell Limiteds and lower trims that are on the lot for VIP pricing. Clear as mud?

So not all Subaru dealers participate? Do I have to contact each dealer in the Southern California Orange County region and ask their sales managers if they participate in the VIP pricing?

I read Ocean (Fullerton) and Timmons (Long Beach) does. I’m checking with Irvine, and Orange Coast (Santa Ana) to see if they do.

Subaru of Ontario is not far...

There shouldn’t be a need to contact each dealer. The master list is quite reliable as I also emailed Timmons and Ocean and they responded they do honor VIP pricing. I would just submit the required information and name of the dealer to Subaru VIP program and let them send the authorization letter to the dealer and confirm acceptance. It’s pretty seamless.

Somehow when I contacted and started working with the salesperson at Ontario before getting authorization (albeit no more than asking questions and a test drive), it delayed my letter by a day with a warning from Subaru to not contact the dealer directly. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think Subaru misunderstood and thought I started an order without the letter.

Just stumbled onto your post. I can't believe I did not see it earlier. I am on here several times per week. Will definitely be checking their inventory on line!! Been looking for central florida VIP pricing!!
After looking at the other central Florida dealers, (I didn't look on the East coast at Melbourne), I found that Devoe Subaru of Naples did accept VIP pricing and they had the lowest dealer fee ($599) of all the FL dealers I had reached out to. We stayed in Naples for the holiday weekend (Labor day) as a reward for our 4 hour drive down from Orlando. Our Ascent Touring was a dealer ordered model which had most of the features and the perfect color (CBP) we were looking for. It was the best and easiest car buying process we've ever had. :smile_big:
