Hi folks!
I've been off the forum for a couple years now, but rest assured, I'm now on Ascent #2 (another white Touring, 2021).
I'm puzzling over hardwiring of a Viofo A139 Pro dash cam. Everything checked out using cig adapter and a usb power pack (sensing ACC, kicking into Park mode, etc.). So now I'm using the included jumpers and have to pick my fuses (panel at driver's left knee).
I found one unused fuse port that has always-on power (#12), so that works great for the red wire jumper. But for some fuses where I subbed-in the ACC jumper, I do get keyed/button power on/off and the dash cam works great -- BUT the original function of the fuse gets disables. It disabled ILLUM (#32) which gave me a remote key error, and it disabled LAMP IG (#18) which stopped the headlights from rotating.
Connectivity checks out on the jumper (its fuse works). I'm pointing the jumper with wire lead coming out the left side, which some threads here emphasized. The only thing I can think of is that the jumper itself has a 5A fuse and the receptacle doesn't fit the Subaru mini fuse (jumper has prong holes whereas Subie fuse is whole body into a slot). So maybe impedance of a 5A fuse is screwing with the module?
Or maybe simpler, perhaps the jumper isn't contacting the left side plate and closing the circuit for the car function, even though a right side plate connection gets me camera function?
Thanks for any insights!
