I’m picking up an ascent tomorrow and looking to get some 18s early next year. What’s the best course of action for that
Reach out to Discount Tire. That's where I've gotten all of mine from.

Hey question- I want the Black Rhino Arches for my Ascent. It's 18 X8 5-114.30 30, and the Falken Wildpeaks I want are 245 /60 R18. Will that 18x8 wheel fit the Ascent? According to Discount Tire it looks like a match, but then I saw the OEM wheels on the Onyx looked to be 18 x 7.5. Am I good with this pairing?

Minor deviations in wheel width are more important to the wheel width range listed for the specific tire you are choosing. If the tires are permitted on an 8" wide wheel, you're good. This, of course, assumes that the wheels you are selecting meet the weight rating requirements of the Ascent; 1684 lbs legal minimum and 1800+ lbs preferred for safety margin.

The Arches have a 2000# load capacity, so I'm okay there. Just concerned about that extra .5". This isn't really my wheelhouse so to speak, so hoping I don't purchase and find out at the install it's not a match.

Tires:
Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail
245/60R/18 105H SL BSW

Wheels:
Vision Hellion Gloss Black
18" x 8"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3
Offset: 40
Weight: 31.4 lbs
Load Capacity: 2100 lbs

All purchased at @Discount Tire aka Americas Tire in California. Good experience with them overall.

No lifting. No rubbing at all (I'm keeping same OEM ratio). Although, I can tell the "slowness" when accelerating as compared with the OEM Falken street tires. Not a huge difference but definitely you can tell (not bad at all though).

Pretty happy with the new setup.

--Nelson.

@nelsub the Subi looks absolutely fantastic! Love the colorway as it accentuates the black on the mirror, bottom trim, and roof rack. Good job. Thank you for your business and thank you for allowing us to upgrade your Subi. (y)

Do you think the "slowness" is due to the tires or the wheel or both? Next time when I get a loaner from Subaru, may be I should request for a Premium instead to figure it out on my own. So far I like the ride of my car with the stock set up for the Limited trim.

As far as I know, the new wheels are lighter than the OEM ones (31.4 lbs vs 33 lbs) even though the new ones have more load capacity (2100 lbs vs 1800+ lbs), but I'm not 100% sure about the new tires being heavier or not. I would say it's a combination of both, maybe a bit more because of the tires themselves. After all, it actually "helps me" to remind myself to not go too fast, it's not a racing car anyway 😁

Sadly I believe the 18" Bully's KMCs are discontinued. Hopefully I'm wrong and @Discount Tire can confirm. I got my black 18" Vision Hellion wheels a couple of weeks ago (pictures are a few posts above) from Discount Tire (aka Americas Tire in California), and I went through a whole bunch of shops and online sources to not find those KMCs available anywhere 😐

Thanks for your reply. That is what I was afraid of. My second choice is the Aventure p6 but they are back order until April . those hellions look great but we want bronze to contrast our black vehicle. It’s hard to wait after looking at all these great setups. The stock black 20’s with street tires make me ill.

Oh yeah, I was going to get the LP wheels but they were back order until March (now I know is pushed to April). Hey, now I have the OEM 20" wheels and tires for sale in case you are interested . Good luck with your search!

@discount. I am wanting a set of 18” KMC Bully’s for my ascent but they are not o. The site. Are theses still available? I have not been a member long enough to message. Thank you
Sadly the 18 inch Bully is no longer available, however the KMC Nomad is. Our website does have a few other options in bronze. Take a look HERE. DM coming your way.

You probably already know this but just in case.

Here in the forum's marketplace, I just noticed someone is selling (or at least it looks like they're still for sale) KMCs 18" bronze wheels and tires. Just FYI.

This is their post: https://www.ascentforums.com/threads/799-18-kmc-bronze-wheels-cont-a-t-tires.18917/
