A number of us have had no success in getting a second set of wheels due to clearance of the caliper (for the most part). Please post the make and model (skus would be great) of the wheels you have purchased, installed and are driving on so we can have one spot to check, along with a URL to the specific rims you have.

Specs we are told are:

Size 18 X 7.5
Diameter 18
Bolt Pattern (mm) 5-114.3
Offset (mm) 55 (Subaru OEM)
Load index

At this point, I just rotated the rubber on the existing OEM rims and working on returning my aftermarket rims from Envy - https://westerncanada.envywheels.com/wheel-specification?productId=nx42855

Reach out to Discount Tire. That's where I've gotten all of mine from.

@Micr0nix congrats on your new Subi! We might know someone that could help with your wheel/tire search in the 18 inch. Don't hesitate to shoot us a DM if you would like our assistance. We would love the opportunity to earn your business and trust. (y)

Hey question- I want the Black Rhino Arches for my Ascent. It's 18 X8 5-114.30 30, and the Falken Wildpeaks I want are 245 /60 R18. Will that 18x8 wheel fit the Ascent? According to Discount Tire it looks like a match, but then I saw the OEM wheels on the Onyx looked to be 18 x 7.5. Am I good with this pairing?

Minor deviations in wheel width are more important to the wheel width range listed for the specific tire you are choosing. If the tires are permitted on an 8" wide wheel, you're good. This, of course, assumes that the wheels you are selecting meet the weight rating requirements of the Ascent; 1684 lbs legal minimum and 1800+ lbs preferred for safety margin.

Tires:
Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail
245/60R/18 105H SL BSW

Wheels:
Vision Hellion Gloss Black
18" x 8"
Bolt Pattern: 5-114.3
Offset: 40
Weight: 31.4 lbs
Load Capacity: 2100 lbs

All purchased at @Discount Tire aka Americas Tire in California. Good experience with them overall.

No lifting. No rubbing at all (I'm keeping same OEM ratio). Although, I can tell the "slowness" when accelerating as compared with the OEM Falken street tires. Not a huge difference but definitely you can tell (not bad at all though).

Pretty happy with the new setup.

Do you think the "slowness" is due to the tires or the wheel or both? Next time when I get a loaner from Subaru, may be I should request for a Premium instead to figure it out on my own. So far I like the ride of my car with the stock set up for the Limited trim.

Sadly I believe the 18" Bully's KMCs are discontinued. Hopefully I'm wrong and @Discount Tire can confirm. I got my black 18" Vision Hellion wheels a couple of weeks ago (pictures are a few posts above) from Discount Tire (aka Americas Tire in California), and I went through a whole bunch of shops and online sources to not find those KMCs available anywhere 😐

Thanks for your reply. That is what I was afraid of. My second choice is the Aventure p6 but they are back order until April . those hellions look great but we want bronze to contrast our black vehicle. It’s hard to wait after looking at all these great setups. The stock black 20’s with street tires make me ill.

Sadly, going to Discount Tire to get my tires and wheels mounted and balanced isn't easy, since the closest is a half day away, so, my friends at AZP Installs does the mounting and balancing...

BUT, it's @Discount Tire where I've bought all but one set of test tires from Falken when I was testing the AT3W's for the community, from our friends over at Discount Tire's Direct division, and they've shipped my needs either to me, or directly to my friends at AZP Installs (they're also the company that helped us test fit the first nine 17" wheels for the Ascent, entirely at THEIR cost, plus assisted me in ruling out literally dozens more that were too small inside the "barrel" or not load rated high enough).

Seriously, since 2013 starting with my 2010 Outback Premium 6MT, Discount Tire is the only place I've bought tires and wheels from.
And accessories, and extra lug nuts, and TPMS sensors, etc...

Here's some of the tires DTD has helped me get for my Ascent, on the 17" wheels DTD helped me select - the very first ever 17" wheel set to go on an Ascent, and the very first one on the "it fits" list!

(all are 245/65R17)

Nitto Ridge Grappler Hybrid Mud/All Terrains
I cannot tell you how much I love these tires in mud and mush!!! And they're pretty comfy on the road, too!

Falken Wildpeak AT3W's
(the original set was the test set from Falken, two of which I destroyed on the trail due to slipped toe bolts - Discount Tire came to the rescue with two matching replacements!!!)

Image

BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A KO2's
(NOT recommended - get the Falken AT4W's or AT3W's- these things stop the worst of any all terrain tire I have ever used when it's wet, muddy, sandy, snowy or icy).
They're also way too heavy for what they do.

NOTE: There's a new KO3 out now that addresses all of those complaints, like their HORRIBLE stopping distance (20-40 feet farther than all of the comparable competition)

But they do look pretty.

Seriously, this day I might as well have been on ice....

Kumho Road Venture AT51's
These tires were surprisingly amazing in almost every respect - and the new AT52's are supposed to be even better.

LET'S SEE MORE!!!
For one thing, I love looking at other Ascents. For another, I am considering my next set of wheels.

Subjective takes (without winter performance) from various sources are starting to come out, with respect to the KO3 and AT4W -

I'm honestly not sure how they were able to assess winter performance of these two tires. I'm not sure I can get behind this YT Channel at all, but it does start off the discussion (note its upload date of about a month ago).

Note that the presenter is very careful to note that what he lays out in the video is totally subjective.
- This was a US-based (Utah) assessment.

Not debating performance at this point. 😝 Just wanted folks to know to keep their eyes peeled for coming tests, since it's about that season. :geek:

Won't work. 😔 Anything bigger than 1/2" more than our tires will rub.

I'm planning to buy aftermarket wheels for a winter setup for my new 2025 Touring, but I'm running into a problem where none of the websites seem to have the 2025 listed in their model selectors. According to the rep at tire rack I talked to, if I build a wheel and tire package pretending I have a 2024 and the wheels get here and don't fit right, that's on me and their fitment guarantee doesn't apply. He wasn't sure when they would get their hands on a 2025 to make whatever measurements they need to make. Does anyone know if there were any changes to the brake system or anything else that could effect wheel fitment for a 2025 vs 2024?

I'm planning to go with MSW type 77 with 245/60R18 blizzak dm-v2. Load rating for those wheels is 1929lb.

Am I correct in my understanding that the vehicle will just recognize the new tpms sensors on the new wheels after I install and drive them for a bit? No need for a tool to register/link them?

Thanks in advance

There are no meaningful differences between MY25 and previous model years...same vehicle generation.

Haven’t seen anything posted about sport terrains.
These are the CV-1s in “light grey” but they are way darker in person. 18x8 at +35mm offset. Stamped on the wheel is 1800lb weight rating and a single wheels weights in at 23.25lbs on my shop scale, almost 10 pounds lighter than the factory 20’s.
Wrapped them in 265 wildpeak at4s. Road noise is minimal and is rides 1000% softer from the rubber bands that we took off.
Found a Grand Cherokee spare and will me modifying the rear holder to house it for road trips
