News and rumors have hybrids coming to the majority of the Subaru lineup starting in 2024/2025, including the Ascent in 2024. I doubt that timeline is still accurate, if it ever was to begin with. The tepid Impreza hybrid is meh, and not ready to jump full EV. Forester hybrid or a revised Impreza/Crosstrek hybrid may serve the commuter car role, but otherwise would be looking to Toyota and others to go up a size from the current Focus while meeting or exceeding its fuel economy.

Subaru has definite plans, but most of the plans I've seen are just stuff Torque News made up. Some of the plans revolve around solid state batteries. Some around full EV, some around hybrids. On the hybrid end, a new CVT was shown off in Japan about 3 or 5 years ago with integrated drive/regen motor in the CVT.

Subaru hasn't used the Toyota look, ever, to date. The RAV4 is heavily Subaru VIZIV Concept influenced, as is the BZ4X, which has a Subaru exterior and frame design, with Toyota tacking on a reversed front grill and their horrible mascara lines onto Subaru's tail lights.

Correct. Sadly, as I've said before, the interior is Toyota, and I'm not a fan of their cheap interiors. Or SafetySense vs actual Subaru Eyesight.

As of now, NO public news has been released about if or when a hybrid Subaru Ascent will be released in the US market. As of now, anything you find on the Internet about the topic is entirely made up.
