Today I finally got around to enabling the cars head unit to attach to our home IoT network.
After setting the related settings, I noticed the HotSpot configuration and opted to set those (to change the defaults).
The HotSpot WIFI settings are surprisingly not very strong...
For example, your password is limited in size... not a best security practice. ...and the password prevents the use of special characters, also not a best practice.
The WPA2 standard is 63 ASCII characters longs, supporting special characters.
I could easily follow an Ascent and hack a less than 16 character password relatively fast.
The Ascent HotSpot’s SSID doesn't allow for something like “BigBlue,” but oddly allows for “Big-Blue.”
