Thanks for the advice! Yeah I think I'm still going to go for VIP pricing. After finally getting a hold of my salesperson, who I know is a good guy I think he just doesn't know how a computer works, sounds like we can still adjust the price for VIP for the Ascent already ordered. I'll let you know on here how much I was able to save should it go well!
Yep, some dealers can/will work some magic to make things like that work.

And, one of my favorite salespeople is horrendous with a computer... sucks, since I am an IT guy and prefer using email. Ridiculously trustworthy and laid back... ridiculously bad at using a computer, and has his coworkers help him put in more complex parts of orders. lol

Do the dealers give any type of document that states that the deposit is refundable?
That's entirely up to the dealer. My dealer's deposit was not refundable (and I didn't care because I trust them - but, that's a choice everyone needs to make on their own about their dealership of choice). Others are. I am pretty sure that in almost every state in the country, that must be specified on the order sheet or the deposit papers/receipt and should be made known before accepting the deposit.

Cant really understand all the fuss about VIP pricing. The dealer is making the same weather or not someone like ASPCA is involved. Negotiate that discount on your own and save the $500 membership fee.
That's not quite how it works. ASPCA VIP Pricing is 2% below dealer invoice, in any state at any dealership that participates in the program.

So, for those in areas where dealers are selling at MSRP no matter what you try to negotiate, it's an amazing deal. Even in the better areas, where it's a couple thousand dollars off MSRP, ASPCA VIP pricing is still better.

I don't need it until the 2020 model. Any idea which program offers what discount? Or any idea where ask subaru about it?
Check the link posted above, and review each program. The programs change from time to time, and besides the eligibility time frames, the discounts are also not all the same.

So, as you get closer, keep an eye on each one and see what the criteria and time frames are. Some may be changing soon.

That's not how it works.

I was able to negotiate a deal right at slightly better than 2% off invoice without paying $500 for a membership. If a dealer will honor VIP pricing they will (should) give you that deal regardless. Their profit is the same. Yes it took some work...and it does seem like the VIP program is hassle free.
No, they shouldn't. That's not how it works. If a dealer is a part of the VIP program, then Subaru of America chips in to make up a portion of the difference for selling the car at 2% below invoice. If a dealer randomly agrees to sell a car below invoice, then Subaru does NOT reimburse them anything.

I just did some reading and everything I can see still says 45days without the order placed note. Not saying it isn’t on there just strange I’m not seeing it anywhere on official sites.
I don't think anyone can answer the question, because they cannot predict if or when the program will change. :plain: But, as you noticed in the other thread, as of now, it's I-2%.

I talked to them and they named they were in the vip program and not the vip partners program. Thats why I figured it was invoice which is what Subaru lists.
Not quite.

There's a VIP program. It has tiers. The pricing is different per tier. That pricing can and may change. No one can tell you because you did not buy a car. When your order is near enough, you will be offered the VIP pricing of the appropriate tier for the program you chose to participate in, which may or may not be the same price as right now.

I hope that helps explain it better. If not, let me know.

Can anyone tell me if a Subaru Ambassador coupon is applicable to the VIP pricing? Additionally, what is a reliable source of invoice price? The prices vary depending on the source. Thanks in advance!
They cannot be combined.

Hi there,
do you know if there is a 1800 number of Subaru for vip pricing? I just found out I might be eligible through LNT though I am not sure. I plan to buy this weekend so if I can verify this it will be very helpful for me.
Thx
Call the number on the website and they can connect you with the right people.

2021 Ascent Turing Brilliant Bronze with Java interior ordered. Expected delivery November.
I'd love to see some good pics of this. All I've seen are renders and promo photos of the new color.

Dealer claimed installation on their part was required for the covers and that the factory did not do that. It was about $700 including covers and installation. We figured we could just get something from Amazon if we were really desperate. They made it sound like this whole we have to disable the seat bolt by bolt type process.
Some accessories aren't installed options (eg: covers, roof rails, etc), and some few accessories are no longer installed at "port" (the list varies).

Update: Went through the fine print, spoke to a VIP rep and spoke with the dealership. Salesperson and manager still wouldn’t budge. I told them via text, ok, leave as is and I will think about the timeline of a new order, but for now keep as is until you hear from me. A day later, kids and I get sick (one after the other) and life happens right? Monday I email the salesperson and internet manager with a check in, no response. Yesterday, I send a text to the salesperson, “oh, we thought you didn’t want it because we didn’t hear from you so we unreserved it. I was pissed, asked him if they considered calling and verifying with the customer first, he refused to respond. Currently waiting to hear back from the GSM but this dealership lacks customer service and professionalism. Supposedly, it is under new ownership. So now I have to start all over with a 50 day timeframe.
Email [email protected] (and cc [email protected]) and complain.
