2 questions... sorry if this is stupid but
1 - Did you get a valet key? I just got the 2 key fobs and bo valet key
2 - Since there are no keys, why is there a keyhole in the driver's side door?
Thanks!

I think this will help answer your questions:

When your car was delivered, that should have been pointed out to you. One important use of that key inside your remote is when you have pets in your car on hot days and have to leave them in the car with the air conditioner running (like going to washroom, restaurant, etc) you take the key out, leave the remote in the car and lock the door with the key by turning the key forward. When return to the car, turn key rearward to open door and reconnect key to remote. This wasn’t pointed out to me either at delivery because most salesmen or women don’t know about it.

Yep, additionally, one can lock the glove box (which is keyed to match the driver's door and the hidden key) and give a parking attendant/valet the FOB and keep the hidden key, that way they can't get into the glove box.

Just got the 2021 Ascent and had the same question. I’m glad I checked here first. Both fobs had a key for the door in them.

I'm "assuming" all fobs are that way unless purchased elsewhere vs supplied with the car. Every car I've ever owned that has a fob has a valet key - going back well over 15 years (Lincoln, Honda and Subaru)

Same for me.
