What is the Forum Protocol with home-brew, grass-roots, cottage-industry ...VENDORS?

If any of you have ever had an Outback or Legacy, then you have probably heard of me. I make aftermarket performance sway bar bushings for regular, "stock" Subaru "Family Haulers". My local parts guys at Mike Shaw Subaru (Denver) noticed me under the Ascent in the showroom this week and asked me what parts I was looking for. Since dealer parts just came online.

I replyed "Sway bar Bushings and CVT mount please."

I will have oem front and rear sway bar bushing in hand tomorrow and will have new product in both 75d (durometer) and 85d by the end of the weekend. 60d is stock hardness. I started this thread as a teaser, and I will comply will with all Ascent forum rules. I will have links on ebay and hopefully and option her to go direct.

I am happy to be a part of the new Subaru Global Platform with stock upgrades. I am also happy to field any questions.

chris@ckessp@gmail.com until my profile is set up.

Welcome to better handling for that 2.4 boosted motor.

Folks,

I have some disheartening news. The is a severe urethane shortage in North America due mainly to the past weather events in TX. There is a global shortage due to the pandemic and the impact on China. I can't source any new raw materials and as of now, I can't be told when I will see new supply. What does that mean? The stock CKE currently holds, is all I have until I can source new material.

I'm not trying to cause a panic or drum up business (as some trolls may claim), but when they are sold out, they are sold out. CKE makes out the same either way. I am trying to inform the community out of respect. Anyone on the fence or anything with build plans as far out as this summer might consider jumping off that fence. I myself am currently hosed on several critical build parts for my cars. I have been waiting since October of last year for some, which I feel may never come back.

I have been struggling with supply all year, hopefully this shortage is not a long lived.

Chris initially replied via e-mail and said he sent the wrong ones. We would work out sending me the correct ones for the Ascent and I would send the wrong ones back (for WRX). However, this was more than a week ago, and I haven’t heard back from Chris since despite a few follow up emails.

From the date of the eBay order, the shipping took more than two weeks (not free) and in aggregate, it’s been over a month since the order was placed.

Hopefully things work out.

Hi, did anyone have any trouble fitting the rear bushings over the bracket? It doesn’t appear to be fitting flush on the brackets at all. The bracket doesn’t fit in the indentation on the bushing either.

Hello All. Apparently I haven't been around much. The regular full time job interferes with my spare time buisiness. I am currently working on a second genberation sway bar bushing concept. I am still a few months away from launching those. In the meantime.

It's work in progress. Stay Tuned.
