So it'll most likely debut at the Frankfurt motor show that's coming up before going on sale next spring. There's a hybrid in the works, but only for a crossover so we won't be seeing a hybrid version of the Ascent which is a full sized SUV.

With all the shows coming up this time of the year there will be some good overlap of information on the Ascent since this is also a high volume product. We will be seeing a number of pre-production model showings. So with that expect to see some different pre-production trims.

Am I reading this right...19 cup holders!

Believe it or not, that amount of cup holders is an industry norm in segments like this. Either that or some car makers are misunderstanding the American market by going overboard with features like this.

Real question should be how many owners are seeing this sort of usage.

Even the VW Atlas is like this:

Unlike some VWs past, the Atlas was designed and will be built by Americans, with input from American customers. It has, for instance, 18 cupholders positioned throughout a commodious interior.

Rep at Philly car show said "late May". When I asked if she meant in showroom floors and available to purchase in late May (because I've read production in late May), her response was 'they are taking pre-orders". Personally, I took that as a dodging of the question.
