Here's a quick look at the Subaru Ascent Concept. Take the interior with a grain of salt since the current line up of Subaru's are a long way out from being anything like this. Exterior design does however hold some weight.

Did Subaru get too ambitious with this concept?

Looking at the 2017 outback and using that to build my expectations, the Ascent however they deliver it to us will be a treat.

Even the Outback is nice, far nicer than comparable Toyota's, Honda's, GM's and Korea cars.

Subaru has been stepping up their interior design game with their new models. Not specifically the Outback, but my friend's Impreza feels so nice on the inside, even just the rear passenger upholstery is better than expected.

With cleaner lines like the outback, less angles and more curves, the Ascent interior could look amazingly refined. The outside is nice too, but the LED headlight surround looks too thick, thin it out and the headlights would look perfect.

Looking at the Subaru Forester, it has a nice interior with the chocolate colored leather interior. The Impreza isn't all that impressive, it just has some nice seats in it with the leather. But it does make sense looking at the levels you're stepping up in the model range.

Its expected and that's the important thing with Subaru. What they do with every model is what you expect of any vehicle in that segment.

Compare an impreza entirely to a Civic, Camry, etc. and i'm sure it will stand out a lot among those. Of course that depends on what you want but fact is the Impreza is a unique product.

The Impreza is definitely a unique product which is why it has such an enthusiastic following and the aftermarket has such a plethora of parts for it. Comparable to a Civic in that sense but you can definitely see the difference in owners and what they're like.

That's a truly amazing concept! I wish to see this type of interior as a high trim level for Ascent.

The exterior design looks good, but the interior is just spectacular. I hope they will offer all these leather dashboard, steering wheel etc. in the high trim model or just as an option in "build & price".
