You're right, that was an interesting watch. These days, reveal videos are all about the lifestyle and they all feel stale at this point. The robots managed to capture my attention and their delivery following that was on point too.

Love that interior panning shot since it gives you some real perspective on what the interior is like in-person, especially on that show stage. Best of all they didn't get too ambitious on the Ascent and this reveal of it. Yes the interior is ahead of its time but far more practical than what other car makers have been putting out.

What Subaru won't do in the Ascent production model is repeat the same mistakes it has made with the Tribeca. Namely how it was small, under-powered, and how it stuck out like a sore thumb compared to the rest of the lineup. Shouldn't be a problem so long as they stick close to the concept model.

Considering it's going to be a three-row, it definitely won't be small so there's no worries in that department. Power wise, if they do end up using that new 2.4L turbo H6 engine that is rumored to produce hopefully 300hp+, that'll definitely be sufficient for it. Once they nail the luxurious aspect of it similar to what that concept looks like, we'll be alright for sure.

Rear end proportions seem big enough that an average sized american can fit in the 3rd row but that's still something we need confirmation on. Since these are intended for growing families complaints about 3rd row space will be minimal.
