Having my Ascent for a month, I finally got a chance to really test my mats this morning, unfortunately, they are going on the list of items to be replaced.
I was carrying a fruit cobbler to work this morning and I put it in the front passenger side foot well. (yes, in addition to kayaking, biking, driving around in mud and **** and subaru things, I cook...) By the time I got to work, maybe a 1/4 cup a sugary fruit water had spilled out. It was thiiiiiiiiis close to spilling out (which would have been a mess to clean out of the carpet) and I had a heck of a time getting the mat out of my car without spilling it, to clean it out.
The ones I have in my Sequoia have 3/4 inch ridges running all over in a pattern and you could spill an entire cup of coffee and it would hold it. I will say that, in our excitement, we bought the Subaru mats sight unseen. But don't regret that, because, even only a month in, my carpet would be a filthy mess.
