I feel simultaneously good, because the seat mounts so solidly, and terrible, for how poorly its fitnin our prior cars.

I have a Touring and a carseat base on one side, and a regular car seat on the other...zero mounting issues...my only problem is how it sucks that the seats don't slide when you pull the handle to move the middle row....it must fold first, and with car seats, that's a no go....my wife as a '19 VW Atlas and they slide and tip at the same time, so it's easily accessible

If you pull the bar at the bottom front (where a seated person would adjust their position) it will slide forward quite far.
it doesn't give quite as much room as the tilt and slide but enough for my kids to get by

It's also super handy that I can reach the bar on the passenger side from the drivers seat to pull it forward for them to get out

I nearly always have my kids slide the seat because its so much easier to push back from the driver seat. They always seem to forget to fold the seat back UP so when I start driving again without them the seat starts sliding forward and backward with every brake/accel

The best carseat mounts I've ever seen were in a Honda Odyssey. It had latch points on every seat, including the 3rd row. I can live with the Ascent's compromises though. At least its not a minivan
