Small Accessories?

If I order my ascent, what do you guys recommend I add on as accessories? The ascent comes very well equipped however I see add on options like body side molding?

Body side molding, door edge protectors, splash guards, hitch, rear seat back protectors and cargo mat.

I added the all weather floor mats but from many reviews they do not seem to be as good as expected. Will probably go with some aftermarket Weather Tech or Huskey liners.
Oh and the auto dimming side mirrors with approach lighting, why these do not come standard with the Touring trim was beyond me!!!???
Depending on the accessories you're looking at, I tend to buy them online vs. at the dealer. Installation tends to be pretty straight forward for small accessories.

Btw, if you're in WA, hi from up north in Mill Creek!
I think Cargo Tray and Rear Seatback protectors are key. Easy to install yourself if you follow @SeattleSi 's lead.

I'd recommend splash guards if you plan to drive on gravel roads.

Have to agree with @FoRealz regarding the Cargo Tray and Rear Seat Back Protectors. Those are very the 2 main must haves imo. Everything else is dependent how important it is for you.

Is anyone running the automatic paddle shifter extensions from Subispeed.com? Looked at them and thought they would look pretty cool.

They do, question is, will they fit?
We ordered our Ascent with the Cargo mat, rear seat back protectors, body side molding, splash guards, and rear bumper protector. I'll be adding a set of the rain guards for the windows when it comes in and a set of aftermarket all weather mats (Husky probably - we have 2 sets now for our other cars). I'll also be adding a hitch in the future, but didn't want to drop the $500 more right now.
I just installed the door edge guards, scuff protectors, and sill plates today. All done in 15 minutes including prep time. Easy enough to install later if you don’t want the upfront cost.

I went with approach lights, seat back, cargo mat, bumper protector, and hitch from factory.

Can you post a closeup picture of the door edge guards you installed? Are they the same color as the paint, or are they clear? I'd like to see a better picture than what is posted in the parts/accessories catalog. Thanks!
I installed the Subaru cargo net to keep my groceries from sliding into the hatch lid. I figured with the cargo area cover and the seat back protectors this would be a nice add on.

Sure I will tomorrow. I was surprised how nice they were. I expected some flimsy rubber but they are painted metal pre-formed to the door curves. Needed a mallet to tap them on. I did however have clear vinyl applied to my door edges as well. You’ll see both in the photos tomorrow.

What do you think of the door scuff protectors? I was thinking of buying them.....
I bought some, however, no car yet. Seems like a big price some plastic. I also bought the blue lighting kit and the brushed silver piece that attaches to the front bumper. When the car arrives I will decide if I would cover the front piece with chrome film. I hope the Ascent arrives soon... just keep buying stuff.

Yikes, I was expecting something that could provide some cushioning. My parking spot is a tight fit and I hate to ding up a neighbor's Toureg. Maybe I should remove this from my order and get something else aftermarket?

How do you like the scuff protectors? Would you mind posting some pics of it too?

For one, when the scuff protectors came out, I thought they were not needed. Then I got into my Ascent and noticed the slight scuffs on the passenger doors from my wife and daughter and thought better of it. They are very thin and only held on by 3m red tape strips. Nothing fancy but they will be an added layer of protection that I wasn't sure the ceramic coating would have provided. attached are some photos of the rear doors. Shows how they are textured like the doors and also curved to fit the door folds.

then the door edge guards. You can see how small they are but they are solid. I like the toughness of them. I did have to hit them on with a mallet and they held their color and shape. Id think if you opened your door against another car, the rounded edge would protect the other car better than the thin edge but honestly I got them to protect my doors when opened near walls. My driveway is narrow and sometimes I pull close to the house to give more room on the passengers side. In the first photo of the door edge guards you can see the clear film goes all the way up the door edge. I had that installed and just put these guards right over the top. Thats not needed but since I already had the film on, I opted not to pull it off.
