Just took deliver of an Ascent Touring. Love the car. Replaced by 2017 Outback Touring we sold (gave) to my MIL.

However, similar to my Outback the lumbar support is annoying even when fully retracted. On my Outback it was simple to remove the plastic lumbar support by just un-zipping the setback and snapping it out.

So I tried this same removal technique on the Ascent. However, I got stuck as there appears to be electrical connections attached to the plastic piece. Given I don’t want to screw up the ventilated/cooled seat functions, I stopped and zipped the seatback back together.

So, has anyone figured out how to remove the plastic lumbar support?
