Ladies and Gentlemen: I have read some of the fora here and for other makes that offer CVTs with fake “shift points”. A common complaint is how they sometimes jerk, or cause other issues.

This goes way back to the earlier days, but I know that on some cars with CVTs, the transmissions could be ”flashed” to ditch the fake shifts and have it just be a CVT. The Dodge Caliber was one such car.

Is this possible on a Subaru? I am old enough to have been driving when a lot of Buicks with Dynaflow were still on the road and they felt fine. I also drove a couple of DAFs; neither had fake shift points.

Please let me know? Thanks!
