After driving my ascent for the past couple of months in the wet northwest, I think that Subaru missed an opportunity with their control of the rear window wiper. As delivered, it's the same as was on my 20023 Outback. With all of the latest niceties on my 2019 model, a simple button on the end of the wiper control stalk could easily be pushed to start a single wipe of the rear wiper. Going even further, push and hold for a second or two and the spray pump would come on for a second or two. Such a feature would be helpful for the light spray without continuous running or cycling with the delay feature.

Just a thought...

Ah, so much for the proof reading before posting. Needless to say, it was a 2003. It's still doing well with 230,000 miles. At 180,000, I replaced the head gaskets and the cylinder honing was evident, all the way to the top of the stroke. Just clean and put it back as it was with a new set of gaskets.
