Ready to test drive!

Hey everyone just came across the forums and figured I should register. Currently own a 4th gen Legacy and 4th gen Forester XT. I am hoping the Ascent is a good mix of the Forester/Outback with obviously a 3rd row. I can't wait to test drive one now...

Welcome to the forums!! Glad to have a Subaru aficionado on board :)

Have you talked to your dealer about it yet and see what they say?

Nothing official yet, I will be in next week though to drop off a part so I will bring it up. The particular dealer we really like here tends to get new models in very early too.
Well that's always a good thing, I'm going to presume they're one of the larger dealerships around??

What did your dealership say about test driving the Ascent?

I've heard sales training on February or March 2018, so hopefully it will at the showroom afterward. :tango_face_wink:

Second or maybe even third biggest I believe in the state, definitely the best Subaru dealer I have ever been to though. I wish every single one of them was like this place.

No exact date, he thinks mid 2018 for sure though unless a delay happens. May lean on earlier here since the Ascent is being built in the Subaru of Indiana factory here, not real far from my house. The Toyota contract pulled out in 2016 so Subaru has been prepping/using that space for the Ascent since then.
I think there might be a chance in the second model year for an Ascent Hybrid, if it comes out in 2019, would you consider getting it? LA Auto Show is coming up soon so we could hear about it then.

Yes, my preference would be a plug-in hybrid.
You live near the factory? I would be doing some "drive-bys" just to try to catch a glimpse of the production ready Ascent! Lucky that you tend to get new models early! Looking forward to when you report in!

Some of my colleagues visited SIA two years ago, security extremely very tight.
Odds are what ever you will get to see is what they want you to see and not the other way around. These car makers are great with hiding projects, just think about all the years these platforms go through development before we hear anything about it. We always hear what they want to tell us.
Anyone in or around the Denver area, just found out that Shortline Subaru in Aroura will have an Ascent today (6/9) for test drives. I'm going try to make it, fingers crossed. No word on if they are taking appointments or not.
