I used the side mount to keep it away from the heat vents and away from Eyesight.

I just bought 2. One for my Forester and one for Ascent. I have not had a chance to put them in but this sits away from the glass so it shouldn’t have any issue with eyesight.
Like Still motion said, this doesn't sit anywhere close to the windshield, so I wouldn't be considered with it interfering with the eyesight system.

Still motion, did you get a chance to install it and how do you like it?

Totally Eyesight safe...

Totally Eyesight safe. Some phones are more prone to being baked by either the direct sunlight or from the heat vent though, so, YMMV on the suitability of the location.

I installed the mount today but the oliv magnet mount I purchased to go on it does not work with my Rokform case. As a result, I will be purchasing a magnet direct from Rokform to utilize on the mount. The photos on the ProClip site are pretty basic. Hopefully these can show you where the mount sits in relation to eyesight as well as how it attaches to the dash.

The vents in the Big A are pretty much in the same configuration as the Crosstrek, and it's seeming to me my set-up in the Trek will be even more useful in the Big A with the potential Eyesight complications:

I had this one in the Crosstrek, although I'm thinking of getting this one for the Big A in order to have more flexibility. I know they're not Proclips, but the one I had works really well and also keeps the phone mildly shaded from the sun. the new one I'm considering looks like it probably will not share that benefit though. If anyone's open to an alternative, I recommend giving this style phone holder a shot.

I put a magnetic mount on the shelf to the left of the steering wheel. No, it's not in direct vision while driving but I can see it with a quick glance left.

Here in AZ the sun is BRUTUAL so keeping the phone shaded is more important than having a better line of sight! And with Android Auto, the only thing I use the phone for is my Escort Live display.
