Unlike older Subarus, the Ascent has electric power steering. No fluids or potential leaks. Happy driving.Just curious...is there a recommended replacement interval for power steering fluid? I have a 2019 Ascent, and cannot find information anywhere. Sorry if this has been asked before and I just can't find it doing a search. Thanks.
Yes. You can test that by shutting off the car when parked with it in neutral and turning the wheel.A question about electric steering... If a fuse ( or fusible link - don't have any wiring diagrams ) were to fail would there still be manual steering capability?
So are all of us... I just have a few more miles of learning under my belt. Thanks, Robert. I'm still learning the Ascent.
I had no idea. What an innovation! I assume it is reliable. It sounds like there is no maintenance for it. Just repair if necessary.Unlike older Subarus, the Ascent has electric power steering. No fluids or potential leaks. Happy driving.
I do too. Also, I betcha people who drove non powered steering or sports cars that simulate it are familiar with the feel.I feel like this electric power steering is behind all the complaints about how touchy the steering is. It’s just different, not wrong. If people know to expect a different response from an electric vs hydraulic system, my guess is they wouldn’t think twice about it.
