Passenger door ajar warning

So the other day we were cruising along the coast, I stopped to take in the view, kids and wife stayed in the car. I got back in, put it in drive, pulled out of the parking area, and my wife flew out of the car. Evidently she cracked her door open, and didn’t say anything. What worries me most is that the car didn’t warn me her door was open. No audible dings. It works on driver side, but nothing on passenger. Any suggestions.

IDK about the door but the seat belt dinger should have been going off. It certainly does when I put it in drive and my wife hasn't yet fastened hers in the pax seat.

There would be a door ajar image alert on your dash.

How is your wife? What was your minions reaction of their mom's disappearing act?

You should have seen if not heard a notification for the passenger seat-belt not secured. And a door ajar notification...

We were out and about and tried ours. The right door being open did not cause an audible alarm, only an indication on the dash. The passenger seat belt dinger only starts once we hit 10 mph. That's was just a quick check. There are more permutations to try.

Wife is ok, some road rash, she was very lucky. When she went flying out the door the kids started laughing. Very surreal moment. Of course they were traumatized after, but while it was happening they thought it was a joke. Anyway we ran a bunch of scenarios, and the only thing that warned us was my instrument cluster, which in my opinion wasn’t enough. I wasn’t looking at my cluster, I was looking down the road both ways before I took off. Like I said the driver side dings like crazy if the door is open, but the passenger side does not, just unfortunate.

This was also my immediate thought...

'Hope she has a quick recovery from any injuries.

I'm glad your wife is ok. And that is pretty funny.
