I just got my CWP Touring yesterday! Yay!! Love it!! I am trying to figure out if I can get text messages if my cell phone is not connected by the usb cord? I do in my Forester. If there is another thread or YouTube video explaining this, please let me know. I did look through the manual...maybe I just missed the information. Thanks for any help!!

Yes.
I think what I had to do was to enable "Show Notifications" in the "Subaru BT" Device Setting, which you can access in the Bluetooth Setting screen, after pressing the blue (i) button.
This confused the heck out of me in my '16 OB, too, but I think that's what finally made it work.

Yes. This is exactly what you need to do for the head unit to show sms from iOS.
