Paint and body seem a little weak to me how about yours?

My rear door was hit by a someone in a parking lot opening a door and it causes 5 dings and a crease. That 4 inch crease caused a ripple about 6 inches back from that. Front end has already several nicks. Side has several small scratches from getting in and out. Seems pretty weak to me. It took over 5 years to get a pant chip in my VW Touareg 2007. Not long and the ding count with that 11 year old SUV will be even. Are you having any issues? Saw one wreck on Copart, looks like she holds up well in serious situations. Now there is a front ender to see https://www.copart.com/lotSearchResults/?free=true&query=ascent

Subaru paint has been notorious for thin paint. Sometimes I feel like if you look at the paint wrong, it'll scratch. This time around, I went all in with a clear bra and ceramic coating. My other Subaru's front end is pretty much white from all the rock chips. Paint isn't exactly why I bought a Subaru but it would have been nice if they had a bit stronger paint hahaha
I heard the exact same comments when I purchased my 2010 Forester in 2009. Now, after nearly 10 years, it still looks almost new. The "thin" paint held up incredibly well.

Nice! Youre a one of few lucky ones. Mine is pretty gnarly.

Check out how thin the sheetmetal is for the roof. I can get mine to pop when waxing. I have no sunroof
Nearly every make the skin is very thin today given its just a skin and not structural and adds weight.

I noticed even the new Mercedes have much lighter steel /skin than my 05 Merc.

On the flip side the paintless dent guys if they are good can work out the dings pretty easily. However the guy that did some work on the wifes work car Fusion Energi Titanium told me he might do one Subaru a yr. I had him do a quote on a dent in our Outback, I laughed and said I can live with it “its a Subaru” and he said “see thats why I only do one a yr!” Lol yep its a Subaru it gets used and develops character and patina.
