Welcome & congrats! It pays to shop around, within your state or market area. Be sure they are quoting the genuine Subaru product, not third-party junk. I prefer to buy from the selling dealer, but these contracts are cash cows for the dealers, and some will try to charge an outrageous price. I bought a 10 year/100K mile /0 deductible SAS Gold Plus when I bought my '22 Onyx in November of 2021 and paid $2050. You have until the 3/36 basic warranty expires to purchase, but I bought it at the time of sale. There are a few perks with the Gold Plus not available with the basic 3/36, like trip interruption, etc., and the price may be higher down the road with inflation, etc.
Be aware that the contracts begin at mile zero and the first date of service, so a ten-year contract covers seven years beyond the basic 3/36, same with the mileage. Let us know what they are quoting, and compare it with others.
