Interesting. It is basically just a large scuff resistant sticker. Our forester does get some scuffs in that area, so I can see how this could be useful. I'm curious what material this is made of and if they will have this accessory for models other than the Ascent in the future.

Also, on SubaruOnlineParts.com it is $81.21. https://subaruonlineparts.com/subaru-ascent-door-scuff-protectors-p-4973.html

This item is currently on backorder with an ETA of mid-August. Orders are still being taken and will be fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis once the part is available.

So popular already!

This looks like another new accessory: Side window deflectors

I love those and always buy them for any vehicle I own. However, I don't like the price they are charging. I just looked, and AutoZone is charging $60 for a 2018 Outback and Vent Visors is $48.99 for them.

I purchased these from both companies in the past. I'd certainly hope the Ascent isn't going to be that much more expensive.

Pretty cool. I always kick that spot when I get out of the car. May be purchasing it in the near future.

I'm having problems with my dogs scratching the doors up by the windows with their nails. Any suggested solutions for this. Is the door scuff material pliable enough to be able to be cut to shape and installed at the top of the door instead...and not look hideous?

I've used a product similar to this (with thin tabs that you slip in between the window and the door) with a hound and a beagle and it works great at protecting the doors. Easy to install and take off as well (this particular one can also be used with velcro tabs - I do not recommend sticking velcro tape on your nice new doors).

@Chado & @LongJnSilver - They're just hard plastic. Nothing fancy about them at all. I havent had a chance to install them yet, but hopefully this weekend.

Any update on this? Is the plastic any more scratch resistant than the door panels?

Are there any aftermarket alternatives for the scuff protectors at a more reasonable price?
I doubt it as there is hardly any aftermarket support for the Ascent (yet?). Plus scuff protectors aren't the most popular automotive accessory out there, making it even more unlikely.

If you really feel like these are useful, ~$70 isn't so bad.

A few months late, but finally got around to installing them the past weekend. They do not seem to be any more scatch resistant than the door panels.
