Anything electronic can fail and sorry to hear you had an issue.
New 23 Ascent premium ECM failure.
Traded in my old 20 Ascent for a 23 Premium and 500 miles later my ECM failed. Don’t know why it failed but now I have to wait a month since it’s back ordered. I really love the new look of my ascent. Hopefully no issues after this. Old ascent only had 62k and only replaced the transmission one time from the recall at 10k miles. Didn’t even know it failed found out when I took it in to get looked at and oil change.

any chance the rab issue you had was related, or anything having to do with your dashcam install? just shotgunning...

The dash cam was in my old 20 Ascent. My new 23 did not have the dash cam installed. Dealer said it failed. Yea I had to have it towed didn't go past 10 mph also didnt want to push it.how was it diagnosed? did it have to be towed to the dealer?

@xydadx3 a dash cam install should never have anything to do with an ECM failure. Totally unrelated.

All a camera needs is Ignition, Battery, and Ground. Could a moron that did an install negatively impact his electrical system? Maybe...worst case he would have blown fuses. Could it impact the BCM? Maybe but doubtful. Could it impact an ECM? Never.I'm not accusing OP of this by any means. Seriously messing up the wiring could absolutely mess up electronics in the car.
