I just discovered this forum while doing a search on car seats in the Ascent. We have been searching for our next family vehicle for months and finally decided on the Ascent. We went in and pre-ordered the Touring model with 2 add-ons. One has to do with towing and one has the auto dimming mirrors. We have never owned a Subaru before nor have we committed to a vehicle sight unseen. Here's hoping this expensive gamble pays off!

It's a scary feeling placing an order for sure on a vehicle you've never even driven. I did this on my 2015 wrx but it fortunately lived up to the hype. I'm sure the ascent will be no different. I take comfort in knowing that it's basically a risk free refundable deposit if worst case something happens or im not happy with the vehicle as ordered. Subaru has delivered (no pun intended) many times for me in the past so expect nothing less this time around.

Congrats on the deposit and I hope it's everything you wished for in a Subaru. One thing you can do before signing anything once the car arrives is to give it a test drive around the lot if possible and point out anything that feels odd.

I recommend taking any vehicle you are about to purchase on a test drive for this very reason. My wife and I on a test drive realized the navigation was not working on one car and they couldn't seem to fix it quickly. We refused to buy it until it was fixed and when they tried to pressure us we left and bought somewhere else. A car you are driving off the lot should be in working order just in case the issue is larger than expected.

I know I will test drive the Subaru I ordered before signing anything.
