Lift gate opening beep

Just picked up a 2019 ascent, have 3 other Subarus as well as driving other ascents, I have a strange issue; which I open or close the lift gate with the button or fob, the lights flash but there’s no beep.
However when I lock and unlock the car, it beeps as it should, does anyone know how this is possible? Or what settings I’m missing to turn this back on?

I'd check out this thread. Might be something that a dealership did to help this person adjust the beep of the lift gate. Apparently it can be turned off - I'm sure the reverse is true but might just be something the dealership can do:

Hi. I can't figure out how to lower the volume on the beeps the power lift gate makes when opening or closing? If volume adjustment is not possible, then I'd like to turn the beep off. Anyone out there know how these things can be done?

Interesting…. I wonder if they’ll charge me; or I just ask them to do it when I bring it in for the CVT recall, thank you!

Why would you ask them to break the thing somebody already fixed? The liftgate beeping is annoying AF.

My dealer charged me to disable gate from responding the FOB trunk release. Now the remote button only unlocks the gate.

It keeps opening my trunk when in my jeans. I didn't want it to open when I was parked against the wall or in my garage if my toddler got a hold of my FOB.

Totally fair, I was more curious if my ascent was doing something “wrong” turns out it’s an improvement for most people.

It's definitely not for everyone, but, I like it, especially when I am working on things and lie down on my FOB, and then have to scramble to prevent the liftgate from hitting my spare tire carrier.

During a trip to my dealer I asked them to turn my beeps back on, they informed me they don’t have access to this setting…… they said it may have been modified by an indie shop and they are unable to revert the beep. Am I missing something? I assume this is a fairly easily accessible setting in SSM; does anyone with SSM know how I can direct them or do I need to try another dealer?
