After spending $50,000 on the vehicle with the wimpy cargo area light, that last $14 is nothing.
That's right. Those LEDs are what I use for all the interior + door puddle lights and they're great. I picked 5000K so they're bright but not harsh. If you're also gonna do rear side markers, make sure to get the red variant of it to work best with the red lens.

Probably but it's a tad overpriced. You know pretty much all the interior lights use the same type lamp? So if you have to buy 15 of them (2 map, 4 mirrors, 2 bottom front door, 2 bottom rear doors, 2 above rear doors, 2 above back row windows, 1 cargo) do you really want to spend $10 on each when you can spend $2.95 on each here:

Sometimes you get the value you pay for? So paying more MAY be worth it?:dunno:

I second that! I purchased some Auxbeam LED bulbs similar to the subrrbright LED and they fit very loose and hardly made contact with the leads in the lights. I ended up using them for the door lights and the rest in my Grand Cherokee then purchased Sylvania 194 bulbs from my local autozone.

Any regrets with getting LED bulbs? I am deciding if I should or not. I don't want the harsh look as some others suggested.
I purposely didn’t do inside LEDs because I like the warm color temp and incandescent glow. I’ll replace them with warm LEDs when they burn out.

Center console light

Has anyone replaced the center console rear facing cup holder bulb? It's between the driver and passenger seats below the rear climate controls.
I second the question. It was the first thing I noticed while replacing the other lights how dim it was.

I used the 19 bulb LEDpartsNow kit from a Amazon for $30. Looks great.

I found something that might be helpful for the trunk light today:

https://www.diodedynamics.com/led-board-smd12-one.html

This is a 3x4 matrix of LEDs that has plugs for common sockets including 194/168. You would need to glue it to the lens but all of the lights would be pointing outward and should light up the trunk nice and proper. Maybe it's possible to wedge it in between the socket and the lens.

Interior LED Lighting swap

Cool!!! Even easier!
I have these and they have worked great in 4 of my previous vehicles.
Yorkim 194 LED Bulbs White 6000k Super Bright Newest 5th Generation Universal Fit Pack of 10, T10 LED Bulbs, 168 LED Bulb White T10, 2825 LED Bulb, W5W LED Bulb, 194 LED Interior Lights for Car https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JRE38EA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_rapnBbPPFW740
I just ordered these based on your recommendation. I have an appointment this Thursday to pick up and install a bunch of things owed to me and they had charged $200 with labor to swap only Map and Reading lights which seems ridiculous. I am assuming you have not had any issues since installing these in your Ascent.

Thanks,

I'm not the OP, but just know that 6000K is quite white. I bought 3000K LEDs and they are close enough (for me) to the original color, just brighter. The 6000K's that I had bought earlier will be relegated to downward door lights or something like that, haven't figured it out yet.

If you haven't done anything yet, I suggest these:

I put them in my Ascent and they are a very good white color and moderately brighter than the stock lighting but not blinding by any means and no glare when lights are turned on by passengers at night and also don't wake up my kids when they come on. I bought two 10 packs and installed them into most of the external fixtures like the puddle lights, license plate lights, and the red side markers in the tail lights.

Here is the tailgate light I picked up from SubiSpeed. I walked under the light and did not see a drastic reduction in available light. One photo is with the trunk lights off. The other is with both on. Take a look at the lighting visible on the tailgate and rear bumper. I am very pleased with the additional light both in the trunk and outside under the gate. For $50, you can't really beat it. Don't mind the scuffs and sawdust... picked up lumber for a lemonade stand I'm making with my daughter!
Hi,

I missed the link somewhere, please will you message me with it?

Bout ready to buy some interior LEDs - looking at these and wondering where they fall in brightness compared to the stock incandescents:
Diode Dynamics:
194 HP5 4,000K - 92 Lumens
194 HP3 4,000K - 56 Lumens
Sylvania:
194 Stock Incandescent ~2,700K - 25 Lumens

To those who have bought the 194 HP3 4,000K - 56 Lumens bulbs from Diode Dynamics, are they bright enough for all the Map lights? I'd like a little brighter than stock, but not blinding - I think the HP5s would be too bright for the Map lights.

I used canbus safe warm white from Super Bright LEDs to maintain the warm interior look of the Touring and they are ridiculously bright.

I got the cool white for the cargo area from Diode, and it's not as bright. I do not have experience with that color temperature though, since I went cooler in the cargo area. I will eventually be replacing it with a SBL 4k.

I'm just finding this post about the LED light replacement. I have a 2020 Ascent Limited. I'm wondering if you ever figured out the small light on the rear part of the center console between the rear climate controls and floor cupholder.

I'm at a loss.
Thanks.

I am still looking for some recommendations for this bulb. It is not a typical plug in. The bulb is in it's own housing and has an orange clip over the end of the bulb assembly. I'm thinking of drilling out the bottom of the orange clip to allow the full light from the bulb to light up below in white.

Epic,
How did you replace the console rear lamp (module) with a plug in LED?

It is available for order, but, as my dealer told me (and others here have posted), just go buy the bulbs yourself and change them yourself and save a bunch of money. It's the one accessory of dubious value to purchase with the car.
My son just provided these and the install for our Ascent for father's day. For the cargo area we installed Diode Dynamics Flexlight LED strip (20"). Having the Flexlight come on as well as the DD HP5 interior LED bulb side and map lights is an incredible difference. I can actually see what is in the vehicle. I used to need a flashlight to see anything inside the vehicle at night.
