I purchased new a 2020 Ascent. It has approximately 25,500 miles on it. This weekend I attempted to play spotify via the usb cable/apple car play. The unit would either not recognize my phone but would show that it was charging, or it would begin a song and play for approximately 30 seconds and then this loud buzz would come across the speakers and the unit would reboot. I tried both usb ports and several different cables with no luck. I am using an iphone 13 pro max. I also tried a hard reset but no the results were the same.

Any thoughts?

Did you clean out the lightning port on your phone? I regularly pull a dust rabbit out of mine with a wooden toothpick. CapPlay issues are my cue that I need to do it again.

I did not do that as it is doing the same thing with my wife's iphone...Our phones are only a couple of months old.

Check for software update on the head unit if you haven't already.

There was a software update which I did last night. Will check today to see if it has resolved the issue and report back. Thanks for the tip.
