HELP! Brake controller not powering after plug and play installation.

I will be doing this this week, I went the route of a 7PIN hitch tester, and lights were working for the most part but the BK for trailer brake light was very faint if lit. I will have to test the connection then keep scratching my head from there and start replacing fuses that look good.
You can try "swapping" fuses of the same rating first, rather than buying and replacing them. If that doesn't solve it, and identify a bad fuse, it is probably not a fuse issue.

An old mechanic corrected my misuse of the phrase "a bad fuse". "No, it is a GOOD fuse if it did its job and blew".;)

Towed the camper this last weekend, brake controller is responsive, the LED light for programming and status is still non responsive, all fuses and power seem to be working. So calling the install a 85% win, as it would be nice for the led to light the control to see the dial in the dark.
I would guess it is an issue with the controller itself, rather than the wiring or installation. Perhaps the LED is not getting power internally or is just defective. Where & when did you purchase the controller? If recently, maybe ask for an exchange/replacement, or contact the manufacturer for help.
