As the title says, I’d had enough of working with aging, high mileage, and surprise prone previous car. Daughter loves her Subaru so I gave it a try and took the plunge.

I put 4K to 6K a year on my daily driver so I’m optimistic I’ll get a long life from this Ascent. No kids left at home but grandkids all over the county so I still had to have an SUV with seating and cargo.

Similar experience w an X5 ... nice when they are running but lack of dealers in upper Midwest and Western states makes beemers risky road cars west of the Mississippi.

Me too ... 335 xi with serious CPU issues, 535GT was good but I sold it at 30k mi (out of fear). I do miss the bmw driving experience, but not the worry of when is something going to break. We have so many subies in the family (6 current) that I threw in the towel and bought my Ascent. May end up with a COBB tuner to smooth the torque curve but so far am happy w it.
