Gold Plus Warranty-Where to buy?

Anyone purchase a gold plus warranty through Planet Subaru or have any other places to get one at a reasonable price? I found Planet Subaru through a discussion here. I’m in Texas and they are from Hanover, Massachusetts so I just want to make sure that they are legit or if there are other places to send my money to that are reasonable.

I corresponded with Luke, but he had stopped selling before I got back with him. I tried Matt, and Matt sent me a price sheet. I tried to buy from Matt. Starting near the end of July, I made several subsequent e-mail attempts to complete the deal. I actually spoke with him once on the telephone. He said that it was the end of the month and he was too busy to sell it to me. So far, the end on the month has lasted over two weeks. .

Planet Subaru wanted my VIN before they would give me a quote.

I did have luck getting in touch with Jason Craig. He can be reached at Jason Craig at Stanley Subaru. [email protected]. When you shopping, I would check with him..

So where did you hear about Jason at Stanley Subaru, I have not come across that dealership or person until now. Did you end up buying your warranty through him/them? What were the Months/Mileage/Deductible that you decided upon and what was the price quote that you received? Thank you.

Why? I've "had luck" getting in touch with many, but prices were terrible. What were his prices like? Nothing wrong with wanting your VIN to screen you as a person really interested rather then a competitor just
shopping.

Just purchased our new Ascent Touring (MSRP 48.7K) this morning. Got to the financing and I turned down all the add-ins (maintenance plan, extended warranty, etc.). After signing the papers, I asked what the cash price of the 10 year Gold would be if I just purchase outright. He said:
1) usually we sell for $4315
2) Our price is $2700
3) I suspect I could get it for you at a few hundred over our price (implying $2900)
4) I said no thanks. It looks like I can get it online for about $1700
5) He said just a minute. Stepped out. Was back in a flash and sold it to me for $1700.

Saw this post evening after I bought 2020 Touring. Wasn't going to do insurance, but ended up biting on a 6 yr/60k for $1850. After reading this, called dealer and told him to up me to 10/100 with no deductible, took 30 seconds for him to say OK. Paid $200 more, but didn't want to go through cancelling and calling around.

Hi,

Waiting for my Ascent to arrive at Planet Subaru - This will be my first Subaru purchase. What are peoples thoughts on the Gold Plus Warranty? Needed given all the electronics on it? Planet Subaru already has a 'service it here and we will give you a 10/150k powertrain warranty plus batteries/tires/loaners etc. Is the extra warranty really necessary?

Also, are people getting better rates through Planet or Liberty?

Paid 1750 +tax for 10/100,000 gold plus zero deducible .

Is it the third party coverage with deductible? or coverage by Subaru manufacturer? Does the plan cover everything including electrical problems?
