I just bought a used ‘19 Ascent and noticed after the first fill up that the fuel gauge did not move up to or beyond the full mark as with every other car I have ever driven. As indicated in the picture, it landed in between the full line and first 1/4 line. Took it in to get it checked out and they replaced a fuel level sensor. Picked vehicle up, went to gas station and experienced the same issue. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, what was the fix?
Thanks!

No problems here. I also have a 2019. Honestly have never seen this on any car I've owned and I've owned over 30+ cars in my lifetime.

Does it still qualify for factory warranty? Take it to dealer. I bet the sensor in the tank is bad

Yep, took it to dealer and they replaced the fuel sensor. Filled it up after leaving dealer and experienced same issue.

How do you normally fill up? I have found that all the high speed pumps in my area are a pain to fill the tank all the way up as it bottlenecks and then turns off. Even on normal pumps it will sometimes do it, and I can fit another 2.5-3 gallons in after it clicks one time if I keep it in "slow" mode. I have never seen it be THAT low from full though.. Have you tried to top it off?

Yep, attempted to top off twice before the “fix” and twice after picking up from the dealer.

Sensor mis-aligned or damaged during tank installation. :(

Range changes depending on your current avg fuel economy. I had the pump stop early on me at a chevron station when we were filling up in North Florida. It only happened the one time though.

For sure, definitely understand that. Either the previous driver was terribly inefficient or something else is wrong.

Another piece to the puzzle is the range. After filling up it only shows a max range of 270 miles. That cant be correct for a 19 gallon capacity vehicle with 20-26 mpg.
Try resetting your trip odometer which should also erase the mpg history from a previous owner. What is your average mpg currently reading?
tbf I have burned an entire tank in less than 270 miles. It was all city driving and a few heavy accelerations.

Makes sense, because it thinks there's less gas in the car.

Maybe try some fuel system cleaner and see if that helps. If the previous owner used crap gas there could be varnish or other contaminants affecting accurate readings by the fuel sender. Chevron Techron is one that is regarded as more than just snake oil...
