While looking for something about engine performance tips & tricks, I did not spot a forum for that.

I intend to be doing some short distance towing, but I'm at some altitude and in a hilly location. I got a new model ScanGauge (my old 1999 model would not work well on 2019 Ascent) and one of the monitor points is Intake Air Temp. I assumed it would monitor after the intercooler, but now, I am thinking not, or else the intercooler is very highly efficient even at crawling speed without ram air. I see IAT at only a couple degrees above ambient, as if it's measuring temps at inlet, instead of after the turbo & cooler.
Anyone able to clarify ? Or point me to the proper sub-forum?

I'll be monitoring the oil and transmission temps too, as soon as I program those settings. HP & Boost readouts make sense, as I'd expect.

Remember that at crawling speeds you are not really making any turbo boost and would not have much in the way of heat from compression raising the intake air temps. So it sounds OK to me.
