Ok, so 30 some odd years ago a drunk driver hit me head on doing 70 mph in a 35 mph zone. Broke my hip left leg multiple ribs and just about every bone from my jaw to my legs.Woke up 30 days later ready to go to work wondering why I'm in here. Going to have dinner with my wife I never made it . So enough of that let's just say when I got rear ended on Friday night I held my pal from taking off cus he wasn't about to leave and let's just 'do this later.` So the damage doesn't look to bad . How they gonna fix our beautiful Subaru. Body experts wanted.And yes made him stay, I actually made him stay and wait to be examined. Yes DUI again. So now all I need is to be t-boned. I already have pain from the first accident and I can tell this one gonna be a pain in the........oh you guys always trying to get me in trouble. I am glad it was not worse this time around. How exactly did you make him stay at the scene? If he was "impaired" I would be all for the police impounding his vehicle and crushing it the next day. I have no tolerance for that type of stuff. Hope you feel a bit better today.

Sorry to hear this but glad you were not hurt. Hopefully they throw the book at the other driver…it is amazing that even sober people don’t understand what a massive responsibility driving is when I observe what is happening on the roads. Your Ascent will likely be as good as new at hopefully no cost to you aside from the upset and inconvenience. Good luck, i hope it’s back in your hands before any of the polished bits start to tarnish!

So sorry to hear about your loss but glad you are safe. I understand how you feel as i was hit at the same spot.
Looks like the Quarter panel will need to be replace along the bumper on right. I am still waiting for 2 parts.
Hope you car gets fixed without waiting for any parts.

Did your car look the same. How long until you get parts. They gave me a Ford Bronco Big Bend Edition 4x4 for a rental. That's the biggest I could get, these Broncos Ford is lucky they built thousands of them but have no chips to get them on the road. Here's the deal this Bronco is 1500 a month and a Chevy is 6000 a month. Per Enterprise

That's the biggest I could get, these Broncos Ford is lucky they built thousands of them but have no chips to get them on the road. I am attaching the picture of my car so that you can compare the damage.
1. Under the bumper there is bumper guard if that is damaged then that needs to be replaced as it a safety issue.
2. The rear speaker, under the panel also was damaged.
Now-these 2 parts are on back order and due to the chip shortage they are not available anywhere.
Regarding the WAIT which is frustrating. I was told they are expecting to get there parts by the end of this month which will make my waiting period 2 months.
You are lucky that the tail light was spared as compared to the damage on my car.
The others parts under the bumper like sensor etc were available. Besides the 2 parts the car has been repaired and painted and looks great. Just waiting for the part is devastating.
Please update once you get the estimate and what needs to be replaced and repaired.

Did you see the rear quarter repair done? Did they section in a new piece or unweld and replace the entire quarter? The latter is a massive amount of work and can only be done by the best body shops.

Replaced the entire quarter, he showed me the removed part.

Your exactly right. How did you know I was worried about that very thing. So I started the Alternator on ,y VW

Damn yours is worse than mine. They started doing the work today. Caliber collision in SB.is doing the work.

Yeah ! You are right my got hit higher up causing more damage.

I got the estimate today, and as I was reading that yours was worse and cheaper. How's that work ? 9,400 was total for mine and it needed that same speaker as yours did.

The damage on my car is definitely more than yours and more costlier. Diff approx 3K.

1. Regarding the speaker is it available?
2. If I may ask what is the part number?

As of yesterday I am still waiting for the speaker and bumper guard (Little black thingy-the end part on the bumper).
Waiting in pain.🙁🙁

So i just realised i never told you the beast is back on the road. Only 2 extra days and considering they never touched it for a month while they had it. Except to ascess the damage. But hey lose some lose some more. I tell you businesses these days they know they shaft ya without even a wink or a nod. But the work was flawless so wife happy again. Thank you all i will post about the motor asap , as its real dusty dirty unclean in general. Needs all aluminum repolished for sure
