Diode Dynamics fog light fit… not quite there

Just a couple photos of the tight fit of the Diode Dynamics current fit for our Ascents. Too tight to properly mount w/o cutting a lot. After a chat and some photos sent (great service BTW) they are sending new (their standard) bezel versus the round one. Will update later after final install.

There was some talk of this on the Modded Ascent Facebook page and a few people said they had to trim the lower plastic to get the lights to fit, this picture was one owners solution. I am about to buy these so let us know if the new set fits better.

Oh thats good to know. I didnt realize you needed to do some trimming in order for them to fit properly. I have a set coming in soon and would like to know if I need to ask em to make any changes to my order before it ships.

I just push mine as far back as possible. The other way is to trim the bezel on the light as it doesn't do anything.

The “standard” bezel is the way to go… installation a breeze! Thanks to DD for sending a free set. I’ll call them tomorrow in hopes they update their fit and recommendations! Since I had a premium I had to cut the opening on the cover… I just followed the line around the fake opening. Hope this was helpful!

Why are you guys putting amber lights on your subarus

I think I'd prefer to go that route myself, if only because the two lamps fit the Ascent foglamp opening better than the quad setup. Which is absolutely not meant as a dig towards anyone with this setup including the OP.

As far as selective yellow lighting goes, here's a good article that explains some advantages: Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

@HeyChris Did you end up switching to the standard bezels as well?
My Gen5 Outback is plug and play. Round bezels.

Got cha! I know your post said that wasnt your photo, but is that pretty much how bright the maxes are? Thats what I ordered, and I'm just hoping the output justifies the price.
