I think someone was drinking when they designed the cup holders...

They do not effectively hold ANY cup from
A fast food joint...

D&D coffee cup - no
Chick-fil-A- no
McDonalds - no

It appears they were designed to ensure you have an accident...

Every cup I put in the holder falls right over on the slightest of turns.

The Subaru ash tray holder serves a a pretty decent adapter.
I bought one and find it to be too tight on a typical fast food or Starbucks drink cup...but it does grip them better than having them so they will fly around the cabin on a sharp corner or quick stop!

That is quite impressive. Did it seep into the LED lighting? There was no mention of any “mods” you’ve tried. I’ve yet to pull that trick off with mine, but I hardly use it. I’m not a daily car drinker - only occasional use. I should have added YMMV. ??

I too liked the gen 4 Outback cup holders better.
