Brand new Ascent: any must-do or should-do items?

With past car purchases I sometimes find out months later that I really wish I had washed, lubricated, or covered over XYZ item before it got dirty in a way that's hard to fix. Is there anything on the Ascent that experienced owners would tell me to immediately clean, cover or examine?

Already planning to install mud flaps on this one, as I live on a dirt road in the (relatively) far north.

Beyond that, for any new SUV I typically install good floor liner mats (Weathertech, Husky, or similar) and a cargo area mat. Also planning a good wax job before winter, and maybe some DIY anticorrosion spray on any exposed metal I see under the car. Any other suggestions?

If you frequently drive on gravel or live in an area with a lot of road debris, I recommend installing screens to protect your radiator and intercooler. Below is a link to the ones I installed. Took about 2-3 hours to do.

Interesting. Sounds like you have all three on yours? I do drive on gravel, but I don't follow closely. Looks like the lower radiator is the most exposed and the easiest to protect?
