Look up the accessory installation instructions for the fog lights. It shows the location of the switch connected to the wiring harness that leads to the front fog light covers.
If your vehicle trim has this harness (I think all do) then there will be a wire and connector taped to the back of the front fog light covers.

Where will you put these? I'm also thinking about aux lights to light up deer eyes on a parkway. The chrome accent on the fog light covers is beckoning to me for Hella 30 drls- Take me off!

Trying to add some LED lights mounted in the lower grill and looking to get a switch mounted in oem location.

Anyone know what the missing ones are (from the touring maybe?) or if a generic version fits ?
Sorry to revived an old thread, but want to know if you were able to added the aux to the OEM location? If so how's the installation? Thank you!

It installs super easy. OEM fitting part number is H4510AL100.

Benny from @SubaruOnlineParts.com can get it for you.

Benny, it won't cross reference, but, the 2015 OB fog light "dumb-switch" is a match for the Ascent, for hooking up aftermarket or OEM Subaru relay controlled non-electronics-integrated fog light accessories.

@maedak8 it comes with a short harness for the switch that you'll have to splice into your wiring. The color codes are as follows (thanks to someone else in the forum, for figuring this out):
  • Black = Ground
  • White = Hot from ignition
  • Blue = To activate relay for auxiliary LED (#86 on Relay)
  • Red = spliced with white wire since Ascent has always on switch backlight. If you want the backlight to be on when the switch is on, splice into blue wire.

Trust me, get the Outback switch. It's a dumb switch, and, it comes with the harness you'll very much need in order to get it to work.

Otherwise, you can get the Ascent switch, and do the harness work as shown here - it's not fun:

Hi Robert,

Thanks again, so does the Outback switch fit the bottom 2 blank panel? Or can it be fitted on the 2nd opening from the left on top?

It should fit either row, but. while I own two switches, and will eventually install both, I haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe tomorrow, I will install it.

BUT, numerous others in this group have test fit and it works.

Hi Robert,

If you happen to test fit it please share the fitment, but I will probably go ahead and buy it anyway haha
