Subaru’s new 3-Row Crossover is coming soon and the Ascent could help the brand continue its recent sales record setting trend.

According to Automotive News, Subaru has been on a roll every month by setting new sales record and next year Subaru of America will be turning 50. What better way to user in that milestone than with a 3-Row model featuring their new vehicle architecture?

Of course there will be the expected celebratory events along with 50th anniversary special edition models and they’re even giving away giving away 50 new cars. Set to debut in production form at the upcoming Los Angeles Auto Show before hitting showrooms next spring, the Ascent should arrive just in time for the festivities.

The Subaru Global Platform will be tweaked to suit the Ascent’s needs and it will be the largest vehicle the Japanese automaker has ever built. To be sold in North America only, it’ll feature the same perks as the 2018 Crosstrek, but with improvements made to certain areas including safety, ride quality and drive dynamics.

Replacing the discontinued B9 Tribeca and filling in a gap in the model lineup, the Ascent could help Subaru maintain their upward sales trend one the ordering books are open.

Well SUVs are getting more and more popular, so the Ascent could give the Suabru a sales boost, though it may not be as extensive as the article makes it sound.
Not sure the Ascent will muster the sales boost of the Crosstrek in terms of excitement. But I sure hope it does well. This is long overdue!
