Went down to the providence show to take a look at the new ascent. Dont quote me on this as it is all just info i was told today. Procing comes out on the 15th. They are sure when pre-orders will begin but they mentioned that some dealers could get vehicles by the end of summer. I took some pics and will upload here for people to take a look at.

That's an interesting place to store a spare tire, wouldn't even know to look there instead of the usual place in the cargo area. Great pictures and i can't wait to see one in person.

yea, keeping it under the car helps it rust faster.. :sad: try removing a rusted on spare tire.

it is a full size spare as in the height of the tire and wheel because of the all wheel drive. it is just not as wide of a tire. the only reason i looked under there was because looking at other 3rd row vehicles there were no spare tires under or inside....something else to note was the 3rd row has the car seat clips/hooks down on the bottom where some other 3rd row cars do not. depends on if you are going to put your younger children as far away as you can in the car. but that is def a plus for me and my family.

I always like torque these put out which probably resulted in features like a full size spare being offered otherwise it would be one of many areas they look to cut weight from with a donut.

At the show will they let you sit in the vehicle or just look from behind the rope?

The Houston Auto Show was the first to have a production model of the Ascent, and we all climbed all over that vehicle. It exceeded all our expectations, so I'll be placing my order today.

I would expect you will be able to climb inside the car at all future car shows. They let us climb in at providence show. There was a line to sit in it. New England is ready to buy.

Awesome! There is a show coming up in Atlanta. I ordered one already but still, want to check it out. I am a tall guy, silly as it may be for someone else my only concern is my left foot. Most production vehicles do not have the room to stretch my leg straight next to the brake pedal. My Outback does and I am hopeful the Ascent will as well.
