Are Ascent AC Ports Non-Standard Size?

Hi all, first time post here and it feels like a weird one--are the AC ports (high and low) non-standard sizes? I can't get my AC manifold guages connected to the AC in the Ascent for the life of me, even though they work fine on our Impreza and our Silverado. Am I missing something?

I am curious here.
The AC is a close circuit right, why would you need to connect an AC manifold on an Ascent 2021?
If you have an issue with your AC and feel like you need to check the psi, I would contact my dealer because it is probably still under warranty.

This.
Also, of all the things I DIY on my cars, AC is not one of them. I have seen so many systems overcharged by those Walmart recharge cans. Heck, I’ve made that mistake as well.
And really, if it needs a recharge….there’s a leak.

Yeah I was working on a couple other cars, and wanted to check my guages on a system that I knew had pressure (the Ascent). But then they didn't slide on and I'm hoping someone here knows if there's a quirk about that AC system. I've got the guages and a vacuum and will have a shop recover any freon that I find, so I believe I'm doing it the right way--but I certainly appreciate that AC can be a tricky one to do oneself. And refrigerant is a nasty greenhouse gas, so I'm careful to stop/prevent these leaks asap.
