Hello Ascent Party People:

Can someone with the Aero Crossbars take a couple measurements please? Specifically we want to know 2 measurements:

The entire length of the crossbar, and then just the length of the usable space on the crossbar for attachments.

This 2nd measurement is not including the lip/thicker plastic ends parts if that makes sense? What we’re trying to determine is how far to one side can we push our cargo carrier to one side, hoping there’s room enough for a surfboard on the other side. We can do this with our 2014 Outback, but it's crossbars don't have this extra lip at each end, and it looks like with the Ascent crossbars we might lose a few inches or more.

Thanks everyone!

I just read this in another post. Hopefully it answers your question.

Be aware that they're actually different lengths. One is shorter than the other because the rails are not parallel.
